I contemplate the mysteries of the limitless deep
Wind in my hair
Feet planted firmly in the soft sand
Waiting for an answer
but the question remains unconsidered
I think I hear something
but it is lost in the roar of the surf…

Sometimes I get my best ideas out of running water: in the shower, walking in the rain, watering my garden…so it stands to reason that I would get some fantastic ideas from the sound of the ocean. There is noting quite like it. It’s sound is so comforting, so soothing…its instinctive.
I am fortunate to live 90 miles from the Pacific and get to visit every once in a while. It never loses it’s magic; it never fails to inspire me

“The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach–waiting for a gift from the sea.”
~Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Beautiful photo, Nancy. I have to be near the ocean regularly – the sound of the waves, the smells of the oceanside, the water rolling in and out all restore me.

I love the sea and the sound of it too, and sand between my toes…. How lucky you are to live near enough for a trip now and then! 🙂

Yes, I am fortunate to be so close. It is a cold beach but in the summer a light jacket is good, some people surf and swim there but I just take in the sights and beach-comb.
